Lake Mburo National Park – Uganda’s smallest Savannah park presents an exciting game walking safari in its moist Savannah landscapes. The walk covers interesting sections of the park and offers an opportunity to view wild games on foot which gives a chance to get close to wildlife compared to if traveling in a vehicle. This activity presents more possibilities of citing Impala, Burchell’s Zebra, Rothschild giraffes, Topis, Warthogs, water-bucks, bush-bucks, Cape Buffaloes, Klipspringer, Elands among others. Return to the lodge and spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying the pool if you are staying at Rwakobo or Mihingo Lodge. An alternative would be to take up an optional boat ride on Lake Mburo – the only park in Uganda fully inside the park looking out for Nile crocodiles, Hippos, and birds such as the African fish eagle and the rare African fin-foot. The beautiful papyrus is also nice to view. Another alternative would be to do an afternoon game drive free of charge.
