3 days chimpanzee trekking safari Uganda Kibale is an amazing 2nights/3day chimp trekking tour in Uganda’s Kibale National Park to track and see the rare chimpanzees in Kibale forest dubbed the Primate capital of the world.
Kibale National Park is home to 13 species of primates including the common Chimpanzees and this offers one full hour with them.
The safari also includes a hike to Fort Portal Crater Lake field, Amabere caves heritage tour, and an exciting Bigodi wetland walk with a community experience.
Pick up from your place of stay in Entebbe or Kampala at 6:30 am after breakfast for the drive to Fort Portal Area 300km about 5 – 6 hours’ drive.
The sights of beautiful countryside landscapes such as the inselbergs of Mubende, the lush swamps in Kyegegwa, the forest tracts connecting to Kibale, and the lush green undulating tea estates make the journey very exciting and picturesque.
Settle for lunch in Fort Portal – Gardens restaurant after which you connect to Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves – the breast-like features believed to have belonged to Nyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku – a self-enthroned Bachwezi King.
Nnyinamwiru is believed to have been denied the opportunity to breastfeed her baby Ndahura as the father had been alerted that the child will take over his throne.
The oozing milky substance at this site is believed to be the milk of Nnyinamwiru.
From this site, you proceed to hike to the Fort Portal Crater Lake field – one of the four explosion craters in Uganda.
Enjoy their panoramic view when you summit Kyeganywa and the overlooking Rwenzori Mountains. From the activity, connect to Kibale NP for overnight.
