The park is home to Burchell’s Zebra, Elands, and Impala, which are not common in other protected areas in Uganda. Among its 350 species of birds include the Red-faced Barbet which is only found here in the whole of Uganda. The Rothschild Giraffe, Leopard, defassa water-buck among others also thrive in this park. The series of lakes and the surrounding pastoral community with their beautiful long-horned Ankole cattle form another exciting wonder of the park.
Pick up from Kampala at 7 am after breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National Park 240km about 3 – 4 hours’ drive. Enjoy the views of en route landscapes and make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for amazing photo shoots and water experiments that indicate the geographical divide between the north and southern hemispheres. Proceed to the park, check-in at the lodge, enjoy lunch and later do an afternoon game drive traversing the acacia dotted Savannah in search of wild game such as Burchell’s Zebra, Elands, Rothschild Giraffes, Impalas, Topis, Buffaloes among others. The views of the Savannah at the sunset are also exciting.
