The Nile Launch Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park Uganda

Pick up at 6am from your place of stay in Kampala after breakfast, transfer to the north heading to Murchison Falls National Park covering 311km around 5 hours’ drive. The en route views including the flat savannah stretches of Nakasongola, River Kafu and lush Budongo forest. Settle for lunch at Red Chilli Rest Camp and join the boat safari departing at 2pm cruising majestically along River Nile – the world’s longest River to the bottom of the falls. The river safari offers likely sights of Nile crocodiles, Hippos, birds like the Shoebill stork, the wild game drinking on the river side like Elephants, Giraffes among others. Upon reaching the bottom of the falls, you hike to the top of Murchison Falls – the world’s most powerful waterfall exploring how the Nile River squeezes itself to pass through a less than 7m ravine before falling 43m below to what has been termed as the Devil’s cauldron creating a plume of spray, thunderous roar and a trademark rainbow. The hike lasts about 40 minutes where you will meet your guide at the top and then transfer to the lodge for overnight.

Day 2 of the 2 Days Murchison Falls Safari Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park Wildlife Safari in Uganda: Extensive morning game drive in northern Murchison and drive to Kampala. Optional tour to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route to track the Southern white Rhinos  

It’s a great morning experience in the extensive open savannah landscapes of northern Murchison marked with patches of borassus palm and thicket towards the Delta.  Game drive in northern Murchison offers chances of exploring; Rothschild Giraffes, Lions, Oribi, Uganda kob, Leopard, Hyena, Hartebeest among others. The game drive lasts about 3 – 4 hours after which you start the journey to Kampala. An optional stop can be made en route at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to explore the southern white Rhinos on foot. This activity takes about 2 hours and then you proceed to Kampala to mark the end of the safari.
