4 Days Uganda Safari – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Afternoon Boat Cruise

Your Uganda safari starts early at 6:30 am from your place of stay in Kampala. After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up for the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a 7-hour drive (417 km) southwest of Uganda.

You’ll have a stop at the Equator for photos, handicrafts, and geographical demonstrations before continuing towards the park, with the Rwenzori Mountain range providing a magnificent backdrop.

Once in the park, a game drive will allow you to view wild animals, including leopards, elephants, hogs, lions, buffaloes, duikers, hyenas, and various antelope species. After checking in and having lunch at your lodge, you’ll proceed to the Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, offering close views of hippos, birds, and crocodiles.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile, spotting buffaloes, elephants, topi, kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, hyenas, leopards, lions, and many birds.

Then, travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector, where you may see tree-climbing lions. Ishasha also supports buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, and kobs. Arrive in Bwindi in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you’ll be briefed by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger at 8 am before starting your gorilla trekking journey. The rainforest offers an exciting landscape with animal trails for tracking mountain gorillas and other wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, black-fronted duikers, and bushbucks.

Once you find the gorillas, you will spend an hour observing and photographing them. After the trek, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, driving through the scenic Kigezi Highlands. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise to explore Lake Bunyonyi’s 29 islands.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe via the Uganda Equator
