
Nyungwe forests national park sited on the mountainous region of south western Rwanda and covers an area of 100km2.
The park has one of the most ancient montane forests in central and East Africa which are homes to more than 200 tree species plus very many flowering plants which attract safari visits to Rwanda.
The present of this tree species makes the forest a rich habitat for different bird species. The forest is a paradise of about 275 species of birds like great turaco and different hornbills. This forest is the best site for spotting birds while on your safaris in Rwanda
Primates are the main centre of attraction in this forest. Chimpanzees, L’Hoests monkeys among other primates are found in this forest.
Chimpanzee trekking safaris is one of the activities that tourists engage in and thus enriches their travel experiences.
While on the trekking experiences, plentiful of waterfalls may be viewed. Plus Animals like elephants, giant forest hogs, bush pigs, wild cats, and serval cats among others. The park contains about 86 animals’ species thus enriching tourists experience while on their safaris to Rwanda.
