As the world marks the first day in the second half of the month of October, Uganda warms up to extend her beloved discount for the critically endangered mountain gorilla permits that are required by travelers on gorilla safaris in Uganda.
The destination Uganda noted to be possessing close to the half of the global mountain gorilla population with her single destination of Bwindi alone featuring a minimum of 400 mountain gorillas while her second gorilla refigium Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in the extreme southwest is part of the Virunga mountain chain that supports the 480 mountain gorilla population that do not only form the basis for gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda but also the gorilla trekking safaris in Rwanda.
The month of November is indeed a joyous one as it presents the opportunity of cutting the Uganda gorilla safari packages close to half of the high season price.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority – the public body that features the sole rights of the issuing of the gorilla permits proudly extended a gorilla permit discount for three months in the whole year but as of now the April and May are already used up thus the travelers with an interest of taking a gorilla safari in Uganda at a low cost are left with November to have realize their dream realized.
Gorilla permits in Uganda are given out to the foreign nonresidents at $800, the resident foreigners at $700 and the citizens of the East African community at 300,000/=
A total of 104 gorilla permits are available in Uganda every day with Bwindi taking the 96 in its four regions of Nkuringo, Ruhija, Buhoma and Rushaga where a total of twelve gorilla families are found including Rushegura, Nkuringo, Mishaya, Orozogo, Bweza, Mubare, Bitukura, Habinyanja, Nshongi, Kahungye, Kyagurilo and Busingye. Mgahinga National Park has 8 permits presented by its one gorilla group Nyakagyezi.
