The physical behavior of gorillas-Uganda safari News

gorillaGorillas move by knuckle walking. This is a form of walking where animals use four limbs and legs. Here the forelimbs hold the fingers in a partially flexed posture that allows body weight to press down on the ground through the knuckles. The knuckles are joints of the fingers which are brought into prominence when the hand is clenched and a fist is made however while carrying food and in defensive situations they can walk short distances. This is a very interesting walking style that people watch as they come for gorilla safaris to Uganda.

Adult male gorillas with silver hair at their back to the hips are known as ‘‘silver back’’ because of their maturity. These take the responsibility to look after   others and this helps the others to be safe and healthy so as they look nice and attract more gorilla tours to Uganda. Gorilla facial structure is known as mandibular prognathism which is the position relationship of the jawbone to the skeletal base where either of the jaws protrudes beyond a predetermined imaginary line in the coronal plane to the skull. However it protrudes further than the upper palate of the mouth.

Adult males have a famous sagittal crest. This is known as the ridge of bone which is lengthwise along the midline of the top of the skull of many mammalian and reptilian skulls. The eyes of the gorillas are dark brown flamed with a black ring around the irish and they also have fingerprints just like the humans. This is an interesting thing to watch hence attracts more people to come for more gorilla tracking safaris in Uganda.

The mountain gorillas are the darkest, have thickest hair and are bulky. The eastern gorillas are not so dark, have a long face and broad chest. The western lowland gorillas are brown or grayish with a reddish forehead. Gorillas in the lowland areas are always slender and lively. These are all different gorillas in Uganda that have attracted tourists hence promoting more gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda
