Team up with the driver guide after your breakfast at the place of stay in Nairobi to embark on the transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park 160km about 3 hours drive. You enjoy sightseeing en route before arriving at Lake Nakuru. The lake offers remarkable views of millions of Flamingos, wildlife species like Black and White Rhinos, Rothschild’s Giraffe and Leopards among others. These two days are dedicated for an extensive game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve along with two picnic lunches on the banks of the famous crocodile infested Mara River suitable place to view the Great Migration if its season. The open savannah plains form remarkable wild game viewing opportunities while the rocky outcrops are ideal resting points for Lions. The likely sights in Maasai Mara include; Millions of Wildebeest (if they on Kenya side), hundreds of thousands of Zebras and thousands of Thompson Gazelle, Cheetah, Lions, Leopard, Waterbuck, Elephants, Buffalos, Hyenas, Jackals among others. Transfer to Budongo Forest Reserve for Chimpanzee trekking starting at 8am. With over 800 Chimpanzees, Budongo Forest is among the oldest tropical forests in East Africa noted to have survived the last ice age and thus featuring great diversity. Gather at Kaniyo Pabidi station and set off for Chimpanzee trekking walking through the lush flora species amidst the enchanting bird songs. The entire chimpanzee trekking experience lasts 2 – 5 hours with one hour of direct viewing. From the activity, you transfer back to Paraa area for lunch and afternoon Nile launch cruise to the bottom of the falls. The 3 hour cruise along the world’s longest River offers likely sights of Hippos, Nile crocodiles, Vulnerable Shoebill Stork and wild game like elephants drinking on the river side. Upon reaching the bottom of the falls, you disembark from the boat and take up a hiking challenge to the top of the falls. You enjoy a lasting experience trekking past the thunderous roar of the Nile as it squeezes itself to forge way through a less than 7m ravine before falling 43m below the Devil’s Cauldron forming a plume of spray and a trademark rain bow. Following breakfast, connect to Pakuba Airstrip and transfer by Air charter to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park either Kihihi Airstrip for the northern sector or Kisoro airstrip for the Southern sector. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 12 of the 13 Days Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda Primate & Wildlife Flying Safari tour: Undertake Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Embark on the Mountain Gorilla Trekking encounter in the forested landscapes of Bwindi popularly known as the Impenetrable. The tracking starts at 8am with briefing about the conduct of the activity after which you set off to the forest accompanied by armed ranger guides. You trek through the hill slopes of Bwindi intercepted by narrow valleys marked with dense forest cover. This verdant habitat supports a minimum of 400 Mountain Gorillas of which 12 groups are habituated and 2 others are under habituation. The entire trekking activity lasts between 2 – 8 hours with one full hour of direct viewing and unlimited photographic opportunities. The moment with these gentle giants is very remarkable as you see them forage and socialise, enjoying the look of their shy but frightening eyes and their gigantic sizes. Connect on the drive to Kigali Rwanda which is closer and catch up with a flight back home. You can as well drive to Kampala and fly out through Entebbe International Airport. Another alternative is to take up a domestic scheduled flight transfer from Kisoro to Entebbe and then connect on your international flight.
