Bwindi impenetrable National Park is located in the western part of Uganda and it has got many benefits that it provides to the country and to the local community. These benefits have helped in encouraging the local communities to engage in tourism development hence increasing mountain gorilla trekking safaris to Bwindi impenetrable National park
Bwindi Impenetrable National park has also helped in increasing gorilla tracking safaris to Uganda since; the park has got half of mountain gorillas remaining in the wild. This has helped in attracting more safari visits to this forest which is thick with many wildlife species.
The local communities which are surrounding Bwindi, have also benefited from the gorilla trekking safaris which are carried out with in the park, this is because the communities are given 20% of the revenue collected from the visitors who come for gorilla tracking with in the park.
More so, the local community is benefiting in the way that the park management of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has allowed the neighboring communities to make crafts which they sell to the tourists who come for gorilla visits with in Bwindi, this has however improved the lives of the local communities hence developing tourism in the area.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park not only provides gorilla safaris but also bird watching which is a common activity which is loved by the birders, this is possible since it has got many bird species which attract tourists to come for birding safaris. It also offers nature walks with in the forest and the village walks which include visiting the Batwa people.
However there are also other places which offer gorilla tracking safaris which include; Virunga mountain sin Congo, volcanoes national park which is located in Rwanda and the Mgahinga national park which has got a group of mountain gorillas.
