9 Days Tanzania Kenya Safari – DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY

Day 1 of the 9 Days Tanzania Kenya Combined Safari to Amboseli, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti & Maasai mara: Drive to Amboseli National Park from Nairobi & do a game drive in the afternoon

Following breakfast, you drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park 218km about 4 hours drive. You drive to the south exploring the Emali town before settling for lunch at the lodge. The afternoon is carried out in Amboseli National Park for wild game exploration and views of the savannah at the sunset.

Day 3 of the 9 Days Tanzania Kenya Combined Safari to Amboseli, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti & Maasai mara: Drive to Tarangire National Park – Tanzania

Set off from Amboseli after early breakfast to cross the Tanzanian border at Namanga where you will go through the Immigration formalities, change the vehicles, and continue to Arusha for lunch. From there, you drive to Tarangire National Park for relaxation, diner, and overnight.

Following breakfast, you set off for a half-day game drive/game viewing experience in Tarangire National Park enjoying the magical landscapes of the park marked by the beautiful Baobab trees, wild game like Elephants, large Buffalos, Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Waterbuck, Impala, dik-dik, Gant’s Gazelle, Eland, Banded Mongoose, Leopard, Lion, Caracal, Cheetah, African wild dog, and Honey Badger. Over 550 species of birds also thrive in the park. Retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer to Ngorongoro Crater and do evening sightseeing.

Day 5 of the 9 Days Tanzania Kenya Combined Safari to Amboseli, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti & Maasai mara: Morning Game drive in Ngorongoro Crater and drive to Serengeti National Park

Set off after breakfast for an extensive game drive on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. Over 2500 large animals are known to be thriving in the area including the highest concentration of Maasai Lions, the Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, Wildebeest, Elands, and Zebras among others. From here, you proceed on the drive to Serengeti National Park making a stop at Olduvai Gorge to explore the discovery site of the fossils of early man that formed the foundation for the naming Africa as a cradle land of mankind.

Following breakfast, set off for an extensive game drive / wild game viewing experience in the famous Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is home to the African Big five namely; Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Rhinos, and Leopard; great counts of Wildebeest, Thompson Gazelle, Elands, and Zebras. Over 500 species of birds including the heaviest flying bird – the Kori bustard call Serengeti home. The game drive is done in the morning and in the afternoon.

Drive from Serengeti National Park crossing the Isebania border post to enter Kenya. You pass through the Immigration formalities and change the vehicle after which you continue to Maasai Mara National Reserve and do an introductory game drive as you connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Following breakfast at the lodge, you set off for an extensive game drive in the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve which is one of the great wild game viewing areas on the continent of Africa. Mara is part of the greater Serengeti Mara Ecosystem where the Great Migration one of the natural wonders of the world occurs every year. If it is a season, you have an opportunity to view millions of Wildebeest accompanied by hundreds of thousands of Zebras and Thompson Gazelle cross the Crocodile-infested Mara River to feed on the lush grass available on either side. Morning and afternoon game drive in Maasai Mara offers possible sights of the Big five (Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Leopards, and Rhinos), Cheetah, Jackals, Hyenas, Elands, Topis among others. The late evening can be spent at the Maasai Village learning about their traditions including their art and craft, music dance and drama, and architecture.

Day 9 of the 9 Days Tanzania Kenya Combined Safari to Amboseli, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti & Maasai Mara: Drive back to Nairobi

Set off from Maasai Mara National Reserve and embark on the transfer to Nairobi enjoying the views of the Rift valley en route. You can then connect with the flight back home via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or continue on safari to the Mombasa coast of Zanzibar Islands.
