Detailed Itinerary of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari, Uganda Wildlife Tour, Chimpanzee trekking Safari Uganda

Day 1 of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari, Uganda Wildlife Tour, Chimpanzee trekking Safari Uganda: Pick up from Kampala / Entebbe at 7am to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Equator stop & afternoon game drive upon arrival

Pick up from Kampala / Entebbe at 7am and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 417km about 7 hours’ drive.  A stop will be made at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for amazing photoshoots before proceeding on the journey enjoying the views of Ankole rangelands with likely sights of Ankole long horned cattle and the Zebras along with Impala straying from the nearby Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy traditional lunch at Igongo restaurant after which you proceed to the park for an afternoon game drive looking out for Elephants, Buffalos, Lions, Leopard, Hyena, Defassa waterbucks, Kobs among others.

Day 2 of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari, Uganda Wildlife Tour, Chimpanzee trekking Safari Uganda: Do Chimpanzee Trekking in Kalinzu Game Reserve, afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel & channel track game drive   

Undertake an amazing Chimpanzee trekking encounter in Kalinzu Forest Reserve adjacent to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Chimpanzee trekking starts at 8am and in the company of an armed ranger guide, you head to the luxurious mature forest of Kalinzu in search of these great ape members. Enjoy the sights of nice flora, birds and monkeys. Upon reaching Chimps, you spend one hour with then viewing them, taking photoshoots and learning more about them. The entire Chimp walk lasts between 2 – 5 hours. From the activity, connect to Mweya peninsular (lunch at the lodge or Tembo restaurant) and embark on the Kazinga Channel boat safari departing at 2pm. Enjoy the 2 hour majestic boat cruise with likely sights of Hippos, Nile crocodiles, wild game on the shores including Buffalos and a range of birds like the African simmers, Great Cormorants, Saddle billed stork, Kingfisher among others. Return at 4pm and do an evening game drive along the channel track as you head back to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3 of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari, Uganda Wildlife Tour, Chimpanzee trekking Safari Uganda: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Ishasha sector game drive in the south of Queen Elizabeth NP in search of tree climbing lions & other wildlife  

Depart the lodge after breakfast for Ishasha sector to do a game drive in search of tree climbing lions and other wild game. Settle for lunch after which you proceed on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 4 of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari, Uganda Wildlife Tour, Chimpanzee trekking Safari Uganda: Do Mountain Gorilla trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and drive to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening boat cruise and relaxation

It’s a great day dedicated for an adventure encounter with the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest marked with dense forests, rugged terrain with steep hills and narrow valleys is home to a minimum of 400 Mountain Gorillas thriving in this flourishing natural habitat. The trek commences at 8am from the respective tracking point, go through briefing and later head to the forest in search of these amazing Great Ape species.  The trek lasts 2 – 8 hours with one hour of actual gorilla viewing. Enjoy the interpretation from the ranger guide and feel free to take photos (Camera flash off). Return from the activity and slope down to Lake Bunyonyi making enjoying incredible views of the fascinating Kigezi Highlands and the overlooking Virunga Volcanoes. Spend the evening relaxing at Lake Bunyonyi and do a boat ride to explore this amazing scenic lake (2nd deepest in Africa) with a range of 29 Islands.

Day 5 of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari, Uganda Wildlife Tour, Chimpanzee trekking Safari Uganda: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi back to Kampala / Entebbe or Kigali Rwanda

Settle for breakfast, and then transfer back to Kampala 437km about 7 hours’ drive. The Safari can as well end in Kigali Rwanda which would be 196km about 4 hours’ drive.
